Cuba & Cruising from the Gulf

Cuba Cruise onboard Fathom Adonia
This August, I went on the beautiful Fathom Adonia doing the 7 night cruise from Miami to Cuba.  What a great cultural experience!  This is unlike any other cruise I have been on.  The ship itself is small and intimate with a very classical feel.  There is no casino and no flashy evening shows onboard.  Instead there were wine classes, dance lessons, destination history talks, and mix & mingle opportunities.  This is definitely an experienced group on travelers onboard.

I have been gone to Atlanta at a travel agent seminar last week.  I will be sharing a lot I learned about in next few newsletters so stay tuned!

Taste of Scotland Group
We have group space on Cosmos's "Taste of Scotland" tour traveling 9/14- 9/20/14.  Our rate for this tour is $1179 per person based on double occupancy (airfare not included in rate).  That is a $100 per person discount off the normal price.  To reserve your spot, a $250 per person deposit would be required.

Where I have been:
I spent 8 nights in Jamaica this July.  Got to stay in 4 different properties but visited 10 in all.  It was a busy week!  My first night I stayed at the RIU Montego Bay.  RIUs are great values located in Mexico & the Caribbean.  The pool and beach were nice and the room while simple was comfortable.  I didnt get to experience the a la carte restaurants but the buffet was really good and very large.  They had a show that evening that I went and checkout out.

Special Events at Moon Palace
Moon Palace in Cancun is a beautiful, all inclusive resort.  Very similar to Aventura Spa Palace which I know many of you are familiar with & stayed at.  Moon Palace is only about 10 minutes from the Cancun airport so handy even if going for a short weekend stay.  They are offering the resort credit that can be used towards room upgrades, tours, spa /beauty salon treatments, golf outings, select Palace Resorts Wedding Collections, and more.

Dude Ranch
If you are stump with planning a memorial family vacation that will include lots of bonding and love the idea of seeing your kids doing something that doesn't require computer or DS, then a Dude Ranch might be just the ticket! Just check out the picture of the ranch on this newsletter and imagine you enjoying that fresh air.
Horseshoe Canyon Ranch is located in Arkansas so no airfare needed for you Memphis folks. (Those in other states, ask me about an option close to home for you)

Where I've been:
Hard Rock Cancun
I spent 4 glorious days at the Hard Rock Cancun last month. While we were being hit with a cold start to spring in Memphis, I was getting to bask in 85 degree sunshine in Cancun. It was a great time. Cancun is a great pick for a first visit out of the country. English is widely spoken and it feels very much like you are back in the US not to mention it is a very safe area.
Hard Rock Cancun is located directly on the hotel strip in Cancun with easy access to all the shopping and nightlife that Cancun has to offer.

Where I have been:
I have just gotten back from a great stay in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I spent one night at the RIU Naiboa just to check it out. Great property for the price. It is a small property and only has a couple restaurants and about a 5 minute walk down to the beach. The pool was lovely and not crowded as I figure most people spent the day down at the beach. Plenty of umbrellas for shade if you don't want too much sun exposure. You do have access to the RIU Bambu but it was a bit of a walk to get there so if you are staying for a longer trip would pay the slight extra to stay at Bambu where there were more amenities.

Where I've been:
In September I went to Minneapolis for MLT University. A training seminar for travel agents with classes about different destinations and visited with hotels from all over the globe. It was a great experience. I have many specials to most destinations from the trade show for bookings made between now & the end of the year. For example, save up to $300 to Las Vegas or Hawaii. Save up to $275 to Couples Resorts in Jamaica, or Palace Resorts & Hard Rock Resorts in Mexico or Punta Cana.

Where I have been

I am working to achieve my Platinum Status with Carnival Cruise Line. To do this you simply need to have sailed on 10 Carnival Cruises by 12/2013. If you are just one or two away it's not too late to get on the ball and get your Platinum status too!
I went on the Carnival Imagination for 3 nights sailing out of Miami on 8/24. Yes, the weekend of Tropical Storm Isaac! The cruise line did a wonderful job keep us out of the storms path. We did port in Nassau as planned but rather than overnighting there as planned we left at 6pm to avoid the storm.
